more songs about buildings and food:

Soy milk on my corn flakes.

Soy latte.

Soy protein drink at lunch.

Yo soy full of soy today.

Also full of cheap puns. But there's nothing new about that.

Work is stressful today. But I'm totally rocking out to Silkworm's cover of the Fleetwood Mac nugget "The Chain". And that's alright.

Bless you and your soy usage!

You get my "slurpee" icon, you lucky bastard.

Plus, that much processed soy isn't particularly good for you, especially since you're a dude. You might check out some of the nut milks (not a euphamism). The Almond or Hazelnut milks are particularly good.

[identity profile] p0tat0es.livejournal.com 2006-05-08 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm...can't say I've seen the nut milks down at the megasupermarket. I'm sure I could find them pretty easily though. I'm mainly just trying to lay off the dairy in the morning (hence the cereal) 'cause that seems to cause the most intestinal distress. The soy latte was a lark - I usually get americanos.

Avoiding dairy's a good thing. Usually anyplace that has soymilk has almond milk in the same place. There's more and more evidence that processed soy isn't very good for you (really, anything that processed ain't going to be good for you), plus for men, it concentrates the naturally occuring phyto-estrogens in the soy.

I generally avoid it altogether, if I can. I'm waiting for a massive rash of soy allergies in this country, now that it's the filler-ingredient dejour.

nut milks

I'm going to go on record, here and now, saying that I *never* want to hear or see these two words together again. Ever.

[identity profile] p0tat0es.livejournal.com 2006-05-09 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
It's no worse than nut meat. I mean, yanno..

[identity profile] allegedly.livejournal.com 2006-05-09 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
You're right. It is exactly no worse than "nut meat" (which is only made worse when it's "nut meats" - don't ask me why). Put me down for "none of that" as well. ;p

Ew.

Too bad I don't have a squirrel.

Gives a new meaning to "trouser snake".

Trouser Snakes On A Plane.

[identity profile] allegedly.livejournal.com 2006-05-09 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Get that motherfuckin' snake off the plane. That's all I'm sayin'. ;p

[identity profile] p0tat0es.livejournal.com 2006-05-09 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I would cry if that snake was on my plane. Jet plane, plane of existence, plain yogurt, whatever. Just keep it off!

You don't know...there could be someone in the room with you right now wearin' one of those underneath their pants...

That's a good one. I also like their cover of that Comsat Angels song on that record.

Speaking of covers, I saw Joel Phelps play a week or two ago and he did a cover of Silkworm's "Severance Pay", which I did not expect.

[identity profile] p0tat0es.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
I wanted to go to that show, but I was out of town.

I saw Phelps reunite with Tim & Michael for a one-off thing at the Baltic Room ages ago. Joel sang and played on a bunch of post-Libertine era stuff, which was weird, but really cool. They played a couple of songs off of In The West and Developer. I wish I had taped it...
