I swear we're going to develop a seige mentality in this city. The crowd in Pioneer Square right now smacks of WTO, but for a far more base reason.

They keep showing all these little skirmishes on the news. Drunk people fighting. Heh.

My fear is that when the bars shut down at midnight -2 hours earlier than normal- people will get pissed off and start acting st00pid(er).

ummm...is there actually a reason at all? or is it just a "woo! let's fuck shit up!" sort've thing?

It was a total "woo let's fuck shit up" thing. Turns out that after I posted this, people did indeed riot. Storefronts were damaged, cars overturned, all that kinda stuff. You can go here if ya wanna read about it, and the earthquake. That thing about the elevator shaft in Knoxville is pretty freaky too. The elevator in my work building is pretty rickety and gets stuck a lot. I hate riding on it.

yea...and i was asleep at the time, taking a nap, just a few yards away...at the time i was completely freaked out about it...and i didn't really know the guy, but it was someone i had seen around often...it just puts in perspective how easily and randomly we could die...which sucks...damn mortality...
