Well, there weren't any takers for the FCS North show. I'm going to go wander up the hill to see what kind of trouble I can get into.

Have you ever been to the Lone Star State as you put it? I doubt it, I've visited every single state in the U.S. and I've found that none of them can quite compare to the people and places here in Texas. We might ride horses to school, or see tumbleweed blow by, or even go cow tippin' but we do it with pride and respect. We don't judge, we don't wear all black, and we sure as hell don't have to suffer through -40 degree weather. I'm sure you don't care and it won't even affect you. This is my opinion and a lot of others opinions as well - that everything is bigger and better in Texas. What do ya'll think about that one - can you say yeehaw?

As a matter of fact, I can say "yee-haw", and "y'all". I can say lots of words. Can you say hyperbole? Hy-per-bow-lee...I know it'll come out sounding funny with your accent and all, but at least give it a try, Tex.

No, you're right - no place can compare to Texas. Why would they want to? And your little comment has done little to change any stereotypes anyone might have of Texas. And it's good to know that all of the horse riding, tumbleweed blowing, and cow tippin' in Texas is done with pride and respect, as you say.

You're definitely entitled to your opinion, as I am entitled to mine. And mine is that jackasses from Texas who post anonymously can stay out of Washington. (Not that you were planning a return trip here or anything, on account of our sub-Arctic -40 degree weather. HA! It was 65 yesterday.) We have enough people to go cow tippin' here already, thanks.

*sticks tongue out at you*

Well, as intelligent as you sound, I'm still right. As a matter of fact, I said all those stereotypes for a reason - so people who are ignorant will know that we can laugh and joke about how stupid they are. I don't even have an accent, thanks for asking though. Wow. I think you got a little offended by my comments - if not, why call me a jackass?!? And a little childish, sticking a tongue out - interesting, I'm right once again, but then again, I never make a point to argue unless I am right. Which in this case, I am. Everything in Texas is bigger and better, including the people. I am better than you. Oh, did I just say that?

Jackass is my new favorite insult. I was just looking for an excuse to use it.

And please, don't take any of this personally. There are lots of states i don't like (Idaho, New Jersey, and especially California)

I'm amused that you, whoever you are, would still go so far as to say that you are better than me. Is proving your dominance over others an important activity to you? I'm just curious. I'd like to think that it's not - not for you, and not for anyone.

I personally don't like arguing. I'm a pacifist and a born arbitrator. I find myself trying to solve other peoples' disputes, so me arguing with you about this is a refreshing change of pace.

So feel free to go on thinking you're right. You don't have to be right all the time, or have to be sure that you're right before you get into a discussion about something. What's the worst that could happen - your opinion gets changed?

Look, obviously, anything I say probably won't make you start hating Texas, just as anything you might say won't change my opinion about Washington. I'm not apologizing for any of my statements...just know that I spend very little time dwelling on what i don't like about Texas. I know it's not all bad there. It's just an easy target, and the aforementioned sterotypes help to make it that way. The Northwest was (and probably still is) a foreign wilderness as far as the rest of the country was/is concerned - until Microsoft, Starbucks, and Nirvana started doing their respective things. I can relate to the whole being defensive about the hometown thing. 10 years ago, my cousins in New York were asking me if we had bears coming up to our doorsteps...they were shocked to hear that we had problems with traffic, gangs, drugs, et cetera. They thought we were hicks or mountain men, basically.

Hell, if there were some sort of Rennaisance that began in Texas that revolutionized modern thinking, I'd be all for it. Maybe you can be the one who starts it.

Another thing: are you absolutely sure that everything is bigger in Texas? I mean, we got some big ass mofos up here...maybe it's all the fat we have to pack on for those -40 degree temperatures...
