Went to Machiavelli tonight with Anna. Did our Valentine's Day thang. T'was good. Ed from X00S (the band) gave me a tin of strawberry pastilles.

Some girl, in the space of 10 minutes, broke a wine glass and an ashtray. Came to find out that her boyfriend of 10 years had conveiniently picked Valentine's Day to break up with her. After 10 years, I might be breaking some glass as well.

It's fucking late. I need to go to bed. I need to be up in a few hours. Not like it matters that much if I show up late. Since I moved departments, no one has said anything about me showing up late. I usually stay late to make it up. I still have some work ethic left, despite everything that's going on there right now. Bah. Humbug.

Indie cred report shows purchase of Dave Matthews Record, Sale of Extremely Rare 7-inch denied

Record store regular Jason Fallows was in for a rude surprise when he attempted to purchase an extremely rare Pavement 7-inch. "I was perusing the used records bin as usual and I found a copy of Pavement's 'Give It a Day'. I was so psyched," said Fallows, "I knew I had to have it so I took it up to the register but the clerk wouldn't sell it to me. He said he was saving the album for someone more worthy and he snatched it right out of my hands. I was so completely horrified. I guess I'll have to have my friend buy it for me."
Record store clerk, Bill Lewis decided to check to see what Fallows had bought from the store in the past when he handed him his Visa card.

"I do that sort of thing routinely when regular customers come in, in case there is something else we have in stock that I think they might want" said Lewis.

Upon inspecting Fallows shopping history, the first thing that popped up was the purchase of a Dave Matthews CD. Further in the history revealed the purchase of an Alanis Morissette album.

"I just couldn't sell him that record in good conscience" said Lewis "Who knows what he would do with it? Maybe he would use it as a coaster or something! I know he wouldn't cherish that album the way a real Pavement fan would and with that record being so rare I just couldn't let him have it."

Fallows defended his purchases, claiming the Dave Matthews album and Alanis Morissette album were both holiday gifts for some cousins and that certainly he would never buy those records for himself.

"You know, I'd like to believe that those were gifts for other people," said Lewis "but who wants to take a chance like that. You just never know."

Went to the Cyclops for a lil' bit tonight with Anna. We split at 10:30 'cuz she was gonna have to drive all the way to Wedgwood. She took Eastlake and went 25 the whole way and got home ok. She said that there was about 2 inches on the ground at her place. It's a whopping 29 degrees in downtown Seattle right now. Channel 4 said 3" to 6" in the central Puget Sound area; Channel 5 has it at 2" to 5". They say that it's supposed to turn to rain tomorrow. Noooo! I like snow. For a little while, anyway. Maybe because I don't have to drive anywhere. But fuck it. It snows so rarely here, I'm gonna fuckin' enjoy it. It's purdy.

I just checked outside...the tracks that Anna's car left in the snow in the alley are almost totally covered up. That was all of 45 minutes ago. Woo hoo. I think I'm wearing jeans and sneakers to work tomorrow. Function over fashion, I say. I'll still look fly, tho'. :)

Non-sequitir: I like listening to Codeine's The White Birch when it snows. The music lends itself to inclement weather.
