Had a looong talk with my sister Katie in Noo Yawk today. Was good, yah. She's 3 months pregnant and will (hopefully) be moving back to Seattle in May as to avoid NY's notoriously hot 'n' gross summers. Her husband isn't as excited about their impending return, as it will be harder for him to get work here (he being a "professional" photographer and all). So if any of you all have $170,000 to spare, they're selling their place in Brooklyn. Any takers, lemme know.

I need to do laundry. Badly. Yeesh.

1) Several thousand people in various states of innebriation are wreaking havoc in Pioneer Square.
2) A cop ran over a person on a bike on Aurora Ave. and killed him.
3) A guy in a fucking wheelchair gets run over and killed by a charter bus.
4) A person crashed their car into the Honda dealership on the other side of my block and died.

WHAT

THE

FUCK

(in other "news": LiveJournal has been straight fuckin' up tonight. My last post and a comment to someone else's disappeared. Furk.)

So I just ran over and took a look at the Honda dealership. The front of the building where the office is got broke the fuck up. There's smashed glass and chunks of concrete everywhere, and the door has been knocked in. What freaks me out is that I walk by there at least a few times a week. I very easily could have been walking right there when that car hit the building. Jesus freaking Christ.

I've been swearing a lot tonight. I think current events warrant it.

I swear we're going to develop a seige mentality in this city. The crowd in Pioneer Square right now smacks of WTO, but for a far more base reason.

They keep showing all these little skirmishes on the news. Drunk people fighting. Heh.

My fear is that when the bars shut down at midnight -2 hours earlier than normal- people will get pissed off and start acting st00pid(er).

One more fucked up thing to add: A bank robbery suspect was captured at the hotel directly across the street from the house I used to live in in the U District in '95.

They had to shut down the Booger King there. So sad.

Well, the stormtroopers are movin' in.

"There are a number of potheads in the crowd who don't wan't to listen to the cops"

- Jim Foreman, KING 5 news

Jim Foreman acts like he's in the trenches in fucking Viet Nam or something. "This is live TV, folks..."

I seem to recall him being the same person that called one of the people who run Hi-Score a "bitch" because she wouldn't let him park the KING 5 wagon in their parking lot during the WTO protests. What a chump.
