I was on the #43 coming back from Capitol Hill last night when a guy got on and sat down behind me. I had my headphones on, listening to something on NPR. Over the din I could hear this guy ranting in a thick Jamaican accent. As far as I could tell, he was loony as a shitbird. He ended his rant and began singing. Loudly. I don't know what it was, but it sounded like something Peter Gabriel would put out on his label and sell to yuppies. I so wished that I had had a tape recorder with me.

The man got off the bus at 45th and University, and as the bus pulled away, I could hear his voice trail off in the distance.

I changed the station on my radio to KEXP. Sure enough, they were playing "BBF3" by Godspeed You Black Emperor!, simply the finest song featuring a field recording of a paranoid political rant ever comitted to tape.

Somehow, they knew.
