Apr. 23rd, 2003 05:44 pmYou know how hard it is to find a bible in a used book store? At least one at a reasonable price, and reasonably sized? And not the King James Version? (I've been readin' a lot about Jebus lately, and I realized that I didn't have Das Gut Book, ja.) Granted, I only looked in two stores, but still! Jesus! Oh, er...anyway.
Some judicious digging yielded these nuggets:
Human Diversity by Alexander Alland: Possibly a little outdated - it was written in 1973, but for $2.00 it's worth a look.
and
Pailhead - Trait: the bastard offspring of Ministry and Fugazi. Like peanut butter and pickles - two great tastes that taste great together, but only if you like that sort of thing.
Shuggie Otis - Inspiration Information: Rereleased by Luaka Bop a year or two ago, it contains the original version of "Strawberry Letter 23". Lots of songs with weird beats provided by now-archaic drum machines. Good shizzle.
