Apr. 28th, 2009 02:25 pmWhat's to say that hasn't already been said about the My Bloody Valentine show? It was LOUD. The last band I'd heard that threatened to liquefy the audience was Pan Sonic when they opened for Mogwai years ago. The gratis earplugs were a lifesaver.
I don't know if it's age or what, but I don't really like going to see live music that much anymore. The majority of the shows I see are ones that I'm performing at. Going to see shows is a lot like going to work for me. Why go on your days off? The sound is seldom very good, and all the standing around makes my feet and back hurt, not to mention the ear fatigue. Maybe I'm going to turn into a studio rat or end up like Steely Dan or Alan Parsons - make records but never play live. Meh. Probably not.
