I have some exquisitely painful razor burn on my neck right now. I mean, really. The image that comes to mind is the cover art of Weasels Ripped My Flesh. That doesn't really represent what it looks like, but it feels about as good as that looks.

So here's my question:

How do you prevent razor burn?

Re: Idlewild - no reason. Just felt like it.

1) I usually shave in the shower. 'Cept I use a CD of techno music that I got free years ago. Not as good as a fogless mirror.
2) I used to shave against the grain too. Not doing that did help a lot.
3) I use Mach 3s...they're too expensive to change every week! :) I paid $15.00 for 8 yesterday...

1) That is the shit. Im going to throw away my fogless mirror and use a CD of techno music

3) So do I, and it IS expensive. Another good tip is not to buy so many at a time - because the longer they sit, the more bad things collect on the razor itself. But that doesn't help the current problem.

What kind of shaving cream do you use?

I've been using this stuff from Lush (from England via Canada) called Razorantium...yr supposed to put it on dry skin(!)...I've done it both ways - I still prefer to use it on wet skin. I have some aftershave gel from the Body Shop that helps a little - no fragrances or anything.
