Got a promising phone call this morning. I also got my gubment check today. And a big herkin' music equipment catalog. Normally I get mad when I get signed up to mailing lists without my OK, but this is pretty cool. Too bad I can't afford anything in it.

I took a break to try to teach myself some Cure songs. The bass lines are super easy, but the guitar parts are deceptively...er...deceptive. Brain fart. Thppppt.

fairly recently, i was trying to learn the guitar for "the blood" by ear, and *could not* get it sorted out. i'd probably put that off to my crap playing more than their tricky guitar parts.

i think i've figured out how to play that...but when i "learned" it it came from memory and i may very well not be playing the actual song when i "play" it...
