It's Super Bowl Sunday. Since my job is to sell women's clothing, I have a feeling that I may be fielding a number of calls from Super Bowl refugees.
I've heard that more women are beaten, abused, and raped on Super Bowl Sunday than on any other day of the year. That's pretty fucked. It'd be unfair to characterize (male) football fans as abusers, but what the hell is going on here? Does anyone know anything about this?

But ask *anyone* who has worked at a women's shelter or at a domestic violence PD unit (my mom worked at the Seattle PD's DV unit last year) on Super Bowl Sunday... they'll tell you the truth.
