dorky:

Apparently, Washington State grows the largest number of Concord grapes in the country, followed by New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Missouri1.

If that's the case, then how come I ain't never seen 'em in a grocery store until last week? I wasn't even sure they were a real type of grape, since the only thing I ever see the name associated with are artificially flavored grape things.

Probably 'cause they're mostly used for juice and jam - they don't really taste very good straight off the vine. I'd rather nibble Pam Grier...

I've had them from a friend's garden before here in Washington. They taste like purple.

Me mum has a Concord vine and we always made jelly or juice. Straight off the vine you need to remove the skin or the are very tart and that is where most of the good for you stuff is.
