Wow...it's been awhile since I posted. Well, I'll bring ya up to date.

Thursday: Went to work. Throat sore. Didn't feel very good. Ended up going to the Cyclops that night anyway. Turns out it was Jereld's last night there. He's leaving to pursue his scholastic endeavors full-time. The place was packed with well-wishers. Jereld was helping himself to copious amounts of Jagermeister while he was bartending. Good luck, d00d. We also conversed with this nice couple visiting from Portland. So Aaron and/or Jen, if yr reading this, next time I'm in Gresham, I'll be sure to stop by the Outback Steakhouse and have a Mandrin-7 with ya.

Friday: Woke up at about 6:15. Felt sorta p00py, so i called in sick. Got some well needed rest.

Felt better later, so I got up and went up to KCMU to drop off last week's CDs and to get some gnu ones. On the bus ride up there, i was listening as they announced that KCMU was moving to a new building and changing their name to KEXP. This being the result of a partnership with Paul Allen's Experience Music Project. Needless to say, I was a little surprised. So I get up to the station and talk to Don (the program director) and ask him what the hell was going on.

Here's the deal (as I heard it): The only thing changing is the name. The DJs, shows, and music will not be changing. They aren't switching to a classic rock or smooth jazz format. They will be located downtown (sorta) and will have better equipment and a better signal, which means you'll actually be able to hear the station on Capitol Hill without it being a static-y. They will have brand new Technics 1200s to play vinyl on (the 1200s they currently have date from around 1986). As far as anyone can tell, this will be a good thing. The station is still licenced to the University of Washington. It'll be oooo-kaaay. I hope. Read about it here.

Friday (continued): Anna and I met up with a large group of Nordbots (these being my former co-workers) at Goldie's fucking Shoreline Casino, of all places. We walk in, and it was Aurora Ave white trash as far as the eye could see. The Brooks & Dunn was playing, the Bud Light was flowing, and the chips were falling. Jeezus. I remedied the music situation by putting a $5.00 bill in the jukebox (that = 25 songs) and not playing any country music. That took care of us for the next hour & a half or so. We split from there and ended up at the Irish Emmigrant, where we were bombarded by surly frat boys and the heavily make-up'd chicks that love them. Half of our drinks were free though. They (meaning the owner and the bartenders) like us there. Then home. Sleep.

Now I'm at my home, waiting for Anna to finish getting her hair done. I'll forewarn all y'all: it gonna be different. Sorta. Then we're supposed to go out to dinner with Chelsea and Victor Trey. Then who know what. So there.

just curious...
