I did not, however, get any doughnuts. Oh well. When I finally got my ass out of my apartment, I wandered up the hill, as far as Broadway, and then headed back down the hill and stopped at Bauhaus. Today marks the end of an era at the old Bauhaus. As of tomorrow, my old haunt from about 1993 until not all that long ago is going totally non-smoking. It sounds like an attempt to make more money for the organization; non-smokers get their coffee and get the hell out, whereas smokers tend to camp out upstairs and only cough up $0.50 for coffee refills. This, apparently, is not good for profits. That's my theory, anyway.
I went to Bauhaus intending to do some CD reviews, but then Ursula showed up, so we had a nice chat for the next hour or so. Then I noticed I had a message on the celly from Brian. He needed some BBQ-lovin'. I went home, and Stacy (sporting her uber-foxy new haircut) came & got me. We went up to Michaela's QFC to get supplies 'n' thangs for said BBQ. We then split from the Hill, and stopped by Jeremy's place to get some daffodil(?...correct me if I'm wrong, Stace) bulbs. Then it was off to Kalthoff Manor for some major beer consumption and barbequing of good eats. After dinner, we sat around and rapped about the state of world affairs (Brian is always good for that). But now I am home. Must go to bed soon.
g00d night.
(PS: Tasha - good luck tomorrow. Lemme know when yr all recovered 'n' stuff, and we can go numb yr knee pain with some liquor or something.)

Apparently (I hear this from people who go to Bauhaus way more than I) there is a problem, not with people that camp upstairs smoking and buying refils, but with people who camp upstairs and do lots of drugs. As I hear it, they catch people every once in a while smoking a joint or doing a line off the table, and its now become too much of a problem. I had only heard they were closing the upstairs temporarily, though... *sigh* The number of late-night coffee places that allow smoking is getting quite small.
