Yea, what the fuck... Actually, I think the no-more-smoking thing has more to do with the stuff that goes on upstairs and not business. Apparently (I hear this from people who go to Bauhaus way more than I) there is a problem, not with people that camp upstairs smoking and buying refils, but with people who camp upstairs and do lots of drugs. As I hear it, they catch people every once in a while smoking a joint or doing a line off the table, and its now become too much of a problem. I had only heard they were closing the upstairs temporarily, though... *sigh* The number of late-night coffee places that allow smoking is getting quite small.
