We had a badly needed practice yesterday. We collectively decided that my having to play guitar through my bass amp is unacceptable, so we endeavoured to rectify the situation.

After practice, we all gathered around the new American Musical Supply catalog, and after much teeth-gnashing and some quick calculations, decided on this:

Come Thursday, I will finally have a guitar rig that *gasp* works!

It's not my dream setup, but it'll get the job done, and people will finally be able to hear me over Dave's squall. I also need an amp now. I'm going to be out an extra $160 or so a month for the next five months, but it's worth it. Now I just need to work on getting a better guitar...

It's this one. It's a hybrid, 50 watt, 2 channel. The cab is the least expensive one they had. I had wanted a slant cab, but those were on backorder until the middle of July. It should get the job done, but if it sucks, I'll send it back and get something else.

I didn't think to ask if it had casters. I'm sick of having to haul amps around by their crappy little handles...
