OK, keeping with my Pixies theme, I have a query for all y'all -

Which version of "Wave Of Mutilation" do you like better - the fast loud one on Doolittle or the slow quiet one featured on the Pump Up The Volume soundtrack, and why?

if the devil is six

I'd have to go with the "Doolittle" version, because (A) that's the one I heard first, and (B) 'cos "Doolittle" is a fuckin' masterpiece, that's all. Beginning to end, not a note out of place, not a speck of cereal. It should be hanging at the Louvre.

Good god damn.

Why yes, I think you might be right. Time to get on those frogs and tell 'em to put some real damn art up.

the doolittle one, because it was the one i was exposed to... i also just think the tempo fits the song better.

i have to agree with mobley...the tempo on the doolittle fits the song better.

besides, when i think about what a "wave of mutilation" might be, i assume it would be fast and violent and loud.

yeah.

but it's not really any of those...it's faster than the other version but not really fast fast...it's far from violent...and while it's not soft and quiet, it's not LOUD...it's more of a pretty song...surfy in a laid back sort of way...i like that it's NOT what you'd assume such a titled song to sound like...
